Goal Batik Cloth

Materials Prepare:

1. White cotton
2. Pencil
3. Canting pen
4. Wax

5. Hot water
6. Bucket

Steps
Batik is a beautiful cloth from Java. There are some
steps to make the traditional batik.

1. Select a length white cloth.
2. Draw a design on the clothes by using a

pencil.
3. Cover the cloth with the wax, except the part
that will be the darkest colour. In waxing the

cloth, use canting pen. Dip into hot wax and
then apply the wax into the cloth.

4. Dye the cloth for the first time.
5. Remove the cloth from the dye solution and

dry it. If the cloth is not waxed, it will absorb
the second colour when the cloth is

immersed in the second dye.
6. Do the process of dyeing and rewaxing for
several times depend on the artist’s print and

colour design.
