Activity Kits and Toys Development Programme
Aseries of activity kits as additional material for various training and outreach activities is an ongoing programme of Vigyan Prasar. During the past decade, more than ten thematic activity kits have been developed. The same is being revised, updated and replicated from time to time. Demonstrations of these activity kits are being organised throughout the country. Hundreds of students, teachers and common man are being benefitted through these interventions. Vigyan Prasar during the period under report developed a kit on ‘Understanding Climate Change and Global Warming through Hands-on’. The kit has been developed as part of additional resource material of Radio serial Badalti Fizae (Whispers of Wind). The kit, comprising of about 50 activities, has been developed in Hindi and English.
Demonstration of Activity Kits
l Activity kits developed by Vigyan Prasar were demonstrated at a panel discussion on Science communication among children organised by CSIR-NISCAIR on 11 January 2020 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi during the world book fair.
l Demonstration of activity kit on Earthquake was done during a training programme on Disaster Management on 28 January 2020 at NCMRWF, Noida (UP). A total of 30 participants were trained.
