Celebration of Important days
Celebration of National Science Day 2020 and Awards Ceremony function
Vigyan Prasar, in collaboration with NCSTC-DST, celebrated the National Science Day 2020 and Awards Ceremony function at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The theme of NSD-2020 was ‘Women in Science,’ and the function was graced with the presence of Hon’ble President Sh Ram Nath Kovind. The occasion included a lecture by eminent scientist Prof Gagandeep Kang, Director of the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), Faridabad, who is the first woman FRS of India, on ‘Preparedness, Response, and Research when Epidemics and News go Viral’. Hon’ble President Ram Nath Kovind presented The National Awards for Science & Technology Popularisation under
various categories for the year 2018-19 including AWSAR awards to the winners.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Science & Technology, Health and Family Welfare, and Earth Sciences also graced the occasion.
Workshop on Vigyan Samachar for Scientists, Research Scholars and Journalists
Vigyan Prasar in collaboration with Indian Institute of Toxicological Research (CSIR- IITR) conducted two-day Workshop on Vigyan Samachar and a science exhibition as part of National Science Day during 28-29 February 2020 at IITR, Lucknow. Students, scientists, research scholars and journalists attended the workshop and exhibition.
