Why Ramanujan is still relevant: Seminar
A seminar on the topic of “Why Ramanujan is still relevant” was organised at the Hans Raj College, DU on December 1, 2019 . Prof Ken Ono, an international expert on Ramanujan’s mathematics delivered a lecture.
Ramanujan Yatra
With a view to observe the 100th death anniversary of Ramanujan, an ambitious national- level project called ‘Ramanujan Yatra’ has been initiated. A core committee was formed, and the first meeting was held on 11 February 2020 at
Delhi. Two seminars per month were proposed to be held from April 2020 to Dec 2020. A social media campaign, publication of books and development of other resource materials were also initiated. The year-long programme will culminate with a grand function at Delhi during December 2020.
During the month of April 2020, in particular on the day of the death anniversary of Ramanujan, at Kumbakonam a major national event was proposed (but could not be held due to lockdown). To initiate the year-long activity at Kumbakonam, a local organising committee was formed, and the meeting was held on 16 February 2020.
