Glimpses of 5th Science Film Festival of India (SCI-FFI) 2020, Goa
Mangal’(2015), ‘Antariksham 9000 KMPH’ (2018), ‘Everest’ (2015), ‘Virus’ (2019), ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ (2019), ‘Geostorm’ (2017), ‘Aamorie’ (2019),’ and ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ (2014).
As part of the event, pre-fest activity was organised at 91 locations across Goa, which included schools, engineering colleges and municipalities.
The festival was inaugurated on 15 January 2020, in the auspicious presence of the Hon. Chief Minister, Government of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant.
The following activities were organised during the festival:
a) Workshop, panel discussion and interaction on ‘Challenges and Prospects of Science Education in Goa’
b) Masterclass on various themes of science films
c) Talk on ‘Film Making and Career Opportunities in the field of Films and Television’
d) Science filmmaking workshop under the guidance of Rakesh Rao, a noted science filmmaker.
e) Theme-based talks – ‘Impact of Global Climate Change on Polar Region’ and ‘Cause and Impact of Climate Change’
f) Workshop on Million SoUL (Solar Urja Lamps)
