S&T Popularisation in Tribal States
To serve the special agenda for the Tribal States and regions of the country, since 2013, VP has taken up a focussed programme for communicating science for children, teachers and other identified target groups. These programmes include hands-on science for Tribal Schools, activity camps for the children of Ashram Schools and awareness programmes for the communities. Some important programmes and activities during the reporting period are:
Training programmes on Hands-on Science
Training workshop to train master resource persons on the theme “Understanding the
Dynamics of Nature” was organised in the foothills of Kaziranga National Park for the Karbi Tribes. More than 50 teachers attended the workshop. During the programme, more than 100 demonstrations and experiments were conducted, and the kit and other resource materials in the form of manuals, posters, etc., were provided to each participant.
Two programmes “Understanding the Dynamics of Nature” and “Activity Camp for Children” were organised at Lamdon Model Sr. Secondary School, Leh Ladakh during 13-17 June 2019. The programme was attended by 40 teachers representing the Leh Region, and more than 100 children.
