Visually Challenged persons
Description and Functionality
The device can help the visually challenged person for navigation. The product has a voice activated GPS fitted, which will help in navigation by giving voice commands. This device is built with the major components like microcontroller, GPS receiver, voice recognition module, voice playback unit, speaker, ultrasonic sensor and power supply unit. Predefined voices are stored in this module as navigating commands to the visually challenged persons. Ultrasonic sensor detects the obstacle in the way onto the destination, so that microcontroller gets it and alerts the visually impaired persons.
State-of-the-art
Generally available blind walking sticks are capable of finding obstacle that touch the stick physically. The developed device is an advanced version that allows the users to sense objects before stick touches them as well as gives voice commands about the obstacles and provides exact location of the user.
