What a relief!
Supporting Agricultural Showmen and Women – Showground Rental Relief program (SASW)
On the 2nd of May 2022 the Victorian Showmen’s Guild was delighted
to officially launch the Supporting Agricultural Showmen and Women – Showground Rental Relief program, on behalf of the Department
of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.
The program is designed to provide rental relief to travelling showmen and women at eligible agricultural shows in country and regional Australia.
The Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia David Littleproud and the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment invited
the Victorian Showmen’s Guild to administer up to $7.8 million of funding and provide this funding to Australian travelling showmen, women and
show businesses for the rental costs associated with their participation at agricultural shows in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 financial years.
The last two years have been
tough for many of us and travelling showmen and women who support agricultural shows have been hit very hard. Due to the restrictions from COVID-19, many showmen and women have been completely deprived of their main source of income.
The SASW Showground Rental
Relief program will help travelling showmen and women; often small, independent sole trader or family- based operations, cover some of their operational costs through support for showground rental relief.
Applications are now open
Applications are now open for Supporting Agricultural Showmen and Women – Showground Rental Relief program (SASW).
The SASW program will work on two levels:

Showmen’s Rental Reimbursement
1 July 2021 – 31 May 2022
2 Showmen’s Rental Relief 1 June 2022 – 30 June 2023
Eligible travelling Showmen and women and Show businesses may receive Showground rental relief at eligible Australian Agricultural Shows held between 1 June 2022 and 30 June 2023.
Reimbursement of showground rental and other eligible approved expenses for Ag Shows held
between 1 July 2021 – 31 May 2022 must be applied for by either the Showmen’s Guild’s/Associations for the defined amusement area, or the Ag Show
Societies for all other eligible travelling
Showmen and women and/or Show businesses.
