Hello to all showmen, show societies and friends of our industry,
Life here in SA is returning to the new normal with government departments finally realising that COVID-19 and its variants are here with us for the foreseeable future, and now that as a country we are
approaching a herd immunity, society must remain open, and the tills keep ringing.
THE SHOW MUST GO ON; and on that note it’s pleasing to report that to date NO events planned for the spring run are considering cancelling.
Reports from Easter carnivals and shows post-Christmas have been all good, with trading better than usual as we continue to emerge from the pandemic.
Show societies have more confidence in holding their shows as The God’s (government departments) require less documentation and paperwork from the organisers, and as most secretaries etc. are just volunteers it makes their job much easier if those words can be used in context of organising any event or country show.
Internet meetings are constantly held in regard to monies given back to us by the government, from our rent relief and membership programs, which thanks to Justine and the executive of the VSG for playing an integral part in negotiations.
By the time of print of this article this should be cleared up and more information on the DMF will come to light.
