Hello to all TOS readers,
As I write this report, I’m at Tamworth show and it looks like it will be a wash out for the first 2 days. I was thinking how good the SASW rent relief program is, when you work a tough or wet show and its one
less expense for the week.
But on a brighter note we have just finished the Gold Coast Show that was a huge success for all members, and I would like to thank
Tyrone Miller and Garry Johnson for the extra-long hours and the extra work load that goes into the Gold Coast Show to be such a success;
as its not at a Showgrounds and it takes a lot more time to make it what it is, so thanks to all involved.
It’s good to hear that all the shows so far heading down south have been above average and well supported from the public.
I would also like to share with our members that myself, Lew Osborne and Terry Nilon attended a meeting with the Queensland AG shows and one of the main subjects was the lack of equipment that’s on
the run due to the insurance prices and the difficulty in getting everything insured. But I would just ask all members to communicate with the committee or our office so that we can make sure we can support these shows.
Just to finish off my report I would like to thank the full committee for the support and all the members that have attended the meetings as the number of members attending the general meeting since I have been in this role, I feel the meetings have been well attended and communication is the key to the success of the guild.
I wish everyone a successful run of shows leading into the Christmas season.
Best regards
Aaron Pink President
