The Community Briefing video series was created by MPD to prom ote trans pa renc y and
accountability with the public and to provi de releva nt inf or mation about of ficer-invol ve d shoot ings .
MPD’s goal is to continue to release releva nt vi de o rega rdi ng critical inc ide nt s withi n a reasona bl e
amount of time after the incident unless releasing suc h vi de o woul d jeopa rdi ze the int egr ity of the
investigation.
Pursuant to the Milwaukee Police Department ’s S tanda rd Ope rating P roc edur e, a c ritical i nc ide nt t ha t
involves the death or great bodily harm of a pe rson whi le in pol ice cus tody will be inve stiga ted by an
outside and independent law enforcement a ge nc y.
