BELIZABETH DEDE MENSAH
The late Elizabeth Mensah, affectionately called aunty Dede by all, was
born on the 7th of October 1953 at Kade to the Mr Kojo Teye and Madam
Maseyo Teye all of blessed Memory. She had all her education at Kade and
later moved to Tema in such of greener pastures. In Tema, she engaged in
trading Eggs and other food stuffs, during which she met her husband Mr
Michael Yaw Mensah. They got married traditionally in the year 1974, their
marriage was blessed with 4 children, Enoch, Jude, Mavis and Derrick and
8 g
8 randchildren. In February 2011, their marriage was blessed here in this
same Parish by Monsignor Peter Agbenu. They lived happily ever after. Last
year she suffered Diabetes which resulted in Stroke, but was well taken
care off, by her husband and children.
She recovered fully and started her normal duties as a wife, mother and
grandmother.
She was very active in Church activities. She was a member of Our Lady of
Mercy Christian Mothers Association, the Sites 1, 12 and 21 BCC and the dis-
ciples Club and she never missed any of their meetings. She was very
hardworking and generous to all and very prayerful. She devoted her life to
the upbringing of her grandchildren and they love her dearly. We will miss
her pieces of advice and her good food. She was a mother and friend to all
and always greeted people with her smiles.
On that faithful day 14th June 2022, death laid its icy hands on her after a
3day illness, she died at the Tema General Hospital.
May her Gentle soul rest in Perfect Peace.
