Genesis Web Service
The District provides Genesis web service with the goal of enhancing school-to-home communications. In its most basic
function, this service will allow postings of important student information such as academic progress to a secure web
portal, for access by parents/guardians. Genesis is a management system that focuses on grade book and
        classroom/content management.

                                                 Benchmark Testing

Benchmark tests are administered after the 2 nd and 4 marking period. The tests are standardized by departments, i.e. th
English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and various electives. The benchmark grade is a separate item on the
report card. Each benchmark counts as 5% of the semester grade. The benchmark exam will be used to calculate
eligibility for all sports and after school activities as well. Students MUST be on time for each benchmark test.
Lateness will not be tolerated and may result in zero credit for the benchmark exam. Students who are absent for
a scheduled benchmark exam will be allowed to sit for the test with a doctor’s note or other approved absence as
defined in the attendance policy, i.e. bereavement. All students, upon their return, will be expected to take the
benchmark exam at a mutually agreed time determined with the course teacher. This may include staying after school to
take the exam in the Project Success Program.
