soil non-mineral sources (organic matters) are relatively slow. The
presence of enzymes are important to enhance the rates of organic matter
decomposition in soils. The accelerated nutrient supplies from soil organic sources
may enhance the importance of organic matter as one of the nutrient sources in
the soil-system. The amounts of some nutrient released with respect to time may
probably suffice the amounts needed by plants that are usually provided by
inorganic fertilizers.
There are several soil enzymes important in availing plant nutrients from
organic sources in the soil system. Among the most important enzymes in soils are
