On September 19 the Kiwanis Club of Long Beach will celebrate its 100 anniversary at a
banquet at the Museum of Latin American Art. At the banquet we will present the first Heart
Of A Hero Awards to a Long Beach police officer and to a Long Beach firefighter who in the past
year have exhibited exemplary service while off duty. The mayor, police chief, and fire chief
plan to attend.

That evening our club will also announce a substantial donation to the City for a new outreach
program for children and young people. The donation amount will be a combination of the
banquet’s net proceeds and funds from our club’s foundation.

We hope that YOUR ORGANIZATION, with which we have had a strong friendship and which we
have supported over the years, will consider by signing up for one of the sponsorship levels
shown in the attachment or by buying tickets and attending the banquet. And you may wish to
extend an invitation to others in your organization to attend.
