C OULD THE MINIS TR Y OF JESUS
HA VE BEEN A CHIEVED DIGIT ALL Y?
We know Jesus often physically touched people when he prayed for them.
We know he broke bread around a table.
We know that the physical movements of his journeys became a part of the spiritual sojourn he was
taking his disciples on.
Peter getting out of a physical boat mattered. Talking to the women by the physical well mattered.
When Jesus talks about those who will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, he describes quite physical
actions. Perhaps these can be achieved online, but it is worth considering the meaning of physically
carrying out these actions in person.
MATTHEW 25:35–36 (NLT)
35
For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you
invited me into your home.
36
I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you
visited me.
Think of it.
• Feeding the hungry
• Providing a drink to the thirsty
• Inviting a stranger into our home
• Clothing the naked
• Caring for the sick
• Visiting someone in prison
Clear, physical, relational actions.
