PREFACE
The world tries to squeeze us into its mold. The
true believer seeks transformation from God. The
inward change we need as believers in this world
comes as we yield to the Spirit and the Word. The
Spirit of Truth teaches us to apply the Word of Truth
to every area of our lives. A renewed mind that is
committed to the Truth is a mind that is not
conformed to the godless system of the age.
The Truth has many dimensions. Jesus is the
Truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. God’s
Word is the Truth. Ultimate Truth will agree in all
three aspects.
The New Testament believer must be committed
first and foremost to the Person of Truth, Jesus
Christ. Jesus, the Truth, is our foundation. Jesus is
our doctrine beyond any denominational declaration.
Without this Truth, we cannot receive salvation.
Trusting in Christ, the Truth personified, Who came
into the world, is the only thing that saves us. He is
the true Word of God in the flesh. Truth is a Person.
We also must receive the Spirit of Truth. He alone
leads us and guides us into all Truth. We cannot find
the Truth without His help. He points us to Christ.
He reveals to us the Truth of the Word of God. He
applies the Truth to our lives.
We also must receive the Word of Truth. We must
be committed to the Truth (the Word) as opposed to
the lies of Satan. Listening to his lies is what started
humanity on its downward spiral in the beginning.
He continues to lie to humans. He persists in
challenging what God has said (the Truth).
The Word of Truth certainly encompasses
Doctrinal Truth as in the fundamentals as given in
the Scripture. Every believer ought to study the Bible
and guard against error and false doctrine. We
