INWARD TRANSFORMATION

ENEMIES OF BODY AND SOUL
The three primary enemies of the believer are the
flesh, the world, and the devil. I believe Paul is
speaking here concerning the flesh and the world in
this text. Of course, the devil is always working what
he can through these. The believer must address the
flesh and the mind to walk in the Biblical
transformation God desires for each of His children.
The body does basically what the mind tells it.
Thus, Paul implored the believers at Rome to
experience the transformation God offers through
the renewing of the mind. The alternative would be
to continue walking in the flesh and allowing the
world to squeeze them mentally into its mold. Paul
strongly urged this mental transformation. Why?
Because they would never be able to walk in God’s
perfect will without a renewed or reformed mind!
In what ways do you acknowledge the need for
mental transformation in your life?
DAY TWO:
PRESENTED AND YIELDED TO GOD
The transformation Paul urged them to receive
was not going to happen for them automatically.
They had to play their part in it. They needed to give
themselves to God. In contrast to the Law of the Old
Testament, their worship-service to God, in this case,
was not to present a dead body for sacrifice, but
rather, a live body, disciplined, empowered by the
Holy Spirit, and ready for God’s complete makeover.
They also needed to allow God to change their
minds to become yielded to His Spirit and not
influenced by the world system. The world system
