MONJARAS HOUSE ZAPOPAN, JALISCO, MÉXICO
Inhabited by a numerous family, this project was designed to house two elderly people among its residents, to this end, the layout included a large bedroom on the first floor, integrated to all essential areas of the house, to avoid stairs.
The house has two laundry rooms, one on each floor, granting greater autonomy to the lower section of the house, where the elderly people reside.
The kitchen, dining, and living areas are connected through sliding doors to an open terrace, for the convenience of family reunions.
The staircase area connects a small studio through a bridge that crosses diagonally to the upper laundry room and three bedrooms, ample enough to accommodate at least two people in each one.
Laminar elements on the facade were placed to provide shade and cover from undesired sun heat. Generous heights and neutral colors were used throughout the house producing a relaxed atmosphere.
