Getting an author website
If you don’t already have a website, then we strongly recommend that you consider investing in one. Having a website allows you to form a relationship with your readers and is a wonderful platform for the promotion of your ebook.There are many website packages available for all budgets and technical levels.
Embedding sample pages of your ebook into your website
If you have an author website or are in the process of creating one, then consider embedding a sample of your ebook into the website, which will then link to a retailer for readers to easily purchase the book. Retailers that currently provide the facility to create embedded samples of your ebook are Amazon, Scribd and OverDrive.
Scribd: Scribd allows you to embed a sample of your book via html coding into your own website. Once you have logged in, find your ebook via the search field and then, using the share icon, select ‘Embed’ from the drop down list of options to get the html code.This code can be copied and pasted and supplied to your web designer for incorporation into your website.
Amazon: Go to the Amazon.com site and search for your eBook. Click on the product page. On the left hand side, there is a list of sharing options (a lot of these could come in handy)... click on <Embed>.This will then bring up the option to copy and paste the HTML link, which you can paste into your website.
