Albert also continued his support of Jews
worldwide. He helped to raise money for Jewish
causes, such as the establishment of a Jewish
homeland. The number of Jewish deaths caused
by Nazi persecution could not be calculated at
the time, but today it is estimated to be
somewhere in the neighborhood of six million.
After World War II, many Jewish people who
were fortunate enough to escape Nazi influence
had scattered to various parts of the globe.
