What you can do now to prevent
Separation Anxiety
MISHKA
(A0823709)
Mishka is a sweet and loving boy who enjoys being petted. He loves playing with Da Bird and lounging in sunny windows. Mishka has lived well with other cats and has become quite popular at the shelter.
NICKY
(A0811707)
Nicky is a bashful girl who needs extra time warming up. Due to her shy nature, she would do best in a home with children over the age of 12. Given time and patience, Nicky’s personality will shine.
We’ve all seen the jokes about how our dogs are tired of being walked, and our cats want us out of the house and back at work. While these are largely untrue (we have to believe that our pets love this extra time with us!), there is some truth to the confusion that our pets are experiencing with stay-at-home and social distancing measures in place. Hey, even humans are confused!
"Our community of animal welfare and behavior professionals are so eager to support you."
PANDORA
(A0820901)
Pandora is a lovely, 10-year-old pit bull who is looking to meet her new family. This affectionate pup loves toys, treats and walks. Her energetic personality would do well with an active owner, and as the only dog.
CANOE
(A0820612)
Canoe is a happy and energetic 2-year-old boxer mix. This goofy pup has a reputation for getting the zoomies and would do best in an active home. Canoe would prefer to be your only pet with older children.
“Our pets are social
creatures. It’s no wonder
they can suffer when separated from us,” said Marissa Martino, Community Liaison and former Behavior Manager for the Dumb Friends League. “Treating separation anxiety can be challenging, however, there are many resources available to the pet parents.”
Located at
Harmony
Equine Center
in Franktown, open to the public Friday – Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (except for major holidays).
DINGO (A0805324)
Dingo is a handsome, 5-year-old buckskin gelding.
He has been started in the Harmony Equine Center training program and although showing great progress, would do best with an advanced rider at this time. If you are looking for a project horse, come meet Dingo today.
