Buh Bye 2020... Hello 2021! By Ree Thompson, Castle Rock resident
Thinking we all are ready for this treacherous year to be gone. Hoping for a “really” normal year ahead; a recognizable one where we can spend time with family and friends, actually see each other’s face, and no longer live in fear. Franklin D. Roosevelt, in his inaugural address, said “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” In this home, we are choosing to look forward to the future days with excitement and newness believing that God is still in control.
On a lighter note, did you know that a “Tom & Jerry” movie is coming out in 2021?
If you do not know what that is, ask your grandparents. It also looks like a “Friends” reunion will be released soon as well. See, there are things to look forward to. Go ahead, go skiing/snowboarding, make snow angels, plan a vacation, plan a family reunion, go to the beach (Cherry Creek?), invite friends over for a BBQ. It is time to have things to look forward to. Open your curtains and let the sun shine in. It is up to each of us to make life worth living.
It is a wonderful thing that we get “begin agains” every January 1. Let’s put 2020 behind us in our hearts and minds and believe that 2021 will be full of joy, laughter, and love. Happy New Year to all
our Castle Rock friends and neighbors. •
