Lend a Hand School Supply Drive
THE FOUNDATION FOR DOUGLAS COUNTY SCHOOLS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
For the past seven years, the Foundation has successfully coordinated the county-wide Lend A Hand Back 2 School Supply Drive. We have been fortunate to partner with generous community organizations and individuals to secure, assemble and distribute over 1,400 new backpacks lled with school supplies annually for Douglas County students in need. Due to COVID-19 business shutdowns and safety concerns this year, the Foundation has not been able place school supply collection boxes at businesses throughout the county this summer. Instead, we are relying on monetary donations from the community to purchase school supply kits for Douglas County families in need of assistance.
Help ensure the success of the Lend A Hand program. Donations of any amount greatly appreciated!
$5.00 buys crayons, pencils and an eraser for 1 student $10.00 buys crayons, markers, pencils,
and a notebook for 1 student
$20.00 buys a backpack with a full set of basic school supplies for 1 student in grades K-5
$25.00 buys a backpack with a full set of basic school supplies for 1 student in grades 6-12
We expect the need to assist students to be greater than usual this year due to the economic hardships many families are facing as they look forward to the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
