A Message to Readers:
Frequently on social media, I see negative comments regarding the expansion and development of Castle Rock, Larkspur and surrounding communities. Unfortunately for those nay-sayers, change is both inevitable and predictable given the increase in the population of Douglas County. There are opportunities to participate in the planning process and give your input to government of cials. The Castle Rock Town Government and Larkspur Town Hall are always looking for volunteers to serve on commissions, advisory committees and councils to participate in the community and economic development process. Anyone who has the time and talent might want to consider becoming an active volunteer to positively impact these changes within our community. My goal in this monthly column is to inform our readers about current and planned changes going on around the Town of Castle Rock and Larkspur without making judgment or editorial comments. ~ Wade
Castle Rock Food & Drink Establishments
Provision Bar Opening Soon:
A new high-end craft cocktail lounge and restaurant is coming to Castle Rock and is projected to open July 12, 2020. Provision Bar will be located at 302 Wilcox Street. This is the former site of a well known local watering hole which was the Castle Rock Bar and Grill. In order to obtain approval for the extensive renovation of this building, the new owners sought approval through the Town Council to remove a historic landmark designation from the building in the heart of downtown Castle Rock. Once approved, the owners were able to redesign the building’s street-facing exterior. The structure comprises what was once two buildings that were connected in 1997. The business partners are Parker residents who also own Milestone Computer Technology. This is their rst venture into the restaurant industry. Their intent is to bring something unique and special to Castle Rock. The new building façade will be brick with large windows, rather than the previous stucco exterior. The new design of the interior will include leather tile,
aged metal, brick and reclaimed wood, all which will create an industrial chic feel for the high end clientele.
Dutch Brothers Coffee:
Get in line with your car and keep your social distance, because the new Dutch Brother’s Co ee is now open and is very popular! They are taking orders curbside and can accommodate three lanes
