The number of members did not directly represent the number of to-
tal population; members could be added according to needs. They also
agreed that the first KNIP meeting should be held on August 29, 1945.
The inauguration of KNIP members took place on Wednesday night, Au-
gust 29, 1945, at the Comedy Building (now the Jakarta Arts Building) on
Jalan Pos, Pasar Baru.
During the KNIP inauguration ceremony, the Committee chose the KNIP
leaders. Elected leaders included:
• Chairman: Kasman Singodimejo
• Vice Chairman I: Soetardjo
• Vice Chairman II: Latuharhary
• Vice Chairman III: Adam Malik
