SHOUTING FROM THE STANDS

hat a performance! 7 - 0! Doris is still talking about it!! A great performance
Wlast week from The Vale against Camberley Town with a lot of exciting,
pressing football that we've been waving our empty pint cups about for a long
time now here in the main-stand. What a change to
witness. It's often the way that the big wins come
against some of nicest folk and Saturday was
the same. Camberley's fans, staff and players
were all a pleasure to chat with and their boys
didn't play so badly - but Vale were on fire and
really up for it so...that's the way games go! All
the boys were looking good but from up here we
were rattling our sandwich boxes when Josh Ano's goal
went in. Watching opposition defences getting rattled in their own penalty area was
something that we haven't seen enough and seeing the pressure penalties being put
away so calmly was very refreshing. The pitch-looked great and someone seemed to
have put together some kind of loudspeaker system to announce the teams - what's
the world coming to?! The bar was buzzing after the match and the new beers from
By The Horns were going down a treat. All in all a great day at Grand Drive! We
all know that not every home game will be like that but...it was a great start to the
home season and we toddled off after a couple of beers a pair of very happy Vale
      fans!
Today, it's the 'magic of the FA cup' again and we're both looking forward to catch-
ing up with all you VCD visitors as well as the local regulars. We've had a read of
the official VCD history online. Apparently it's too long to get into this edition of
'Into The Vale' (come on Mark - when's this new, bigger version coming out??) but
      it's worth a read!!

      Come On You Vale!!
