                    70. Soon afterwards the Claimant received a telephone call from a man whom he described
                        to LPJS as “very helpful” who assured him the AIG claim – accepting permanent lifelong
                        disability - would be approved without delay  at four times gross salary.

                    71. On 21  October 2016 the Claimant’s licence was revoked and his employment with

                        easyJet came to an end. On 28  October 2016 AIG paid him £525,397.60. The Claimant
                                                    th
                        should have advised Cirencester of this but is not believed to have done so until at least
                        May 2018.

                    72. On 28  October 2016 at 15.13 the Claimant sent an SMS to LPJS embedding  a

                        photograph of his Nat West balances, a smiling emoji and the words “shit shit” and listing
                        the balance on his accounts as follows:

                              At 15.13 LPJS responded  “Shit  ” contrasting her account balance of a

                              negative £1,188.44 with the Claimants.


                    He responded at 15.24 and 15.25

                           “Oh, it’s all ours  so you don’t need to worry!!! Let’s work towards the next BIG

                           ONE!!!!”

                    73. This confirms that - despite already being paid around £900,000 in damages -  the
                        Claimant’s priority was to maximise recovery from Diamond Insurance. He also stated the
                        money was “ours”: implying that he had given half to LPJS.

                    74. He described the Diamond Insurance policy, among other things  as:

                              “worth millions”
                              “life changing and his golden opportunity”;
                              His “one chance to escape from flying”;

                    75. The Claimant’s enthusiasm was restrained by LPJS’s advice  and his anxiety that the AIG

                        policy would come to light  or that he would be required to complete forms or make
                                                54
                        declarations containing falsehoods for which he had no plausible excuse. The more
                        Diamond Insurance delayed settlement, the more anxious the Claimant became although
                        he was still determined to maximise his pay-out.
