Eligibility and Enrollment
Introduction
Congratulations on your new job! Your beneit choices are important decisions—
affecting how you receive your beneits and what you pay for them. For some, the
decision may be easy; for others, the decision may require more thought. Whatever
your situation, we encourage you to learn as much as you can about your options.
Coverage Effective Date
Beneits provided by MG+BW, as well as those that you elect, will be effective the
irst of the month after 30 days of employment. You must enroll for coverage
during this time period. If you are not actively at work on the date your coverage is
effective, your coverage will not be effective until you return to active employment,
with the exception of medical coverage.
This booklet contains details about the plans and how they work.
You may enroll in the beneits program if you are a regular full-time employee who
is actively working a minimum of 30 hours per week. As you become eligible for
beneits, so do your eligible dependents. In general, eligible dependents include your
legally married spouse or domestic partner and children up to age 26. Children may
include natural, adopted, stepchildren, or children obtained through court-appointed
legal guardianship.
