Your Disability Coverage Options
Disability Plans are another important part of a complete inancial planning strategy. These
valuable plans replace some or all of your pay for a period of time if you miss work because of
a disability.
Capgemini ofers Company-paid Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD)
coverage to eligible employees. You also have the option to purchase additional Accident and
Critical Illness coverage.
Short Term Disability
If you are a regular, full-time employee, you will be enrolled in the STD Plan automatically after
180 days of employment. STD coverage is provided at no cost to you after a ive-day elimination
period. This beneit replaces a portion of your income if you are unable to work because of certain
illnesses or injuries for more than ive business days. (Paid Time Of, as described under Illness
on page 36, may be used for up to the irst ive business days of an absence.)
Your beneit amount is based upon your length of disability and your annual earnings, as shown
in the table below after a ive-day elimination period. Request forms and doctor certiications will
be required to qualify for STD beneits. Please see the Summary Plan Description for more details.
After a Five-Day Elimination Period Your Benefit is:
First Two Weeks 100% of weekly earnings
For the Next Two Weeks 80% of weekly earnings
For the Remainder Up to a Total
of 60 Days 60% of weekly earnings
