Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) (continued)

Paying your Healthcare Expenses
There are two ways to pay for Healthcare FSA or Limited Purpose FSA expenses:

1. Debit Card: You can use your debit card to pay for eligible healthcare expenses at any provider or
approved merchant. Funds will be taken directly from your FSA account when you use your debit card.

2. Reimbursement: You can ile a claim with Chard Snyder to have a check or direct deposit
reimbursement sent to you. Go to the Chard Snyder app or website to initiate and ile a claim.
Per Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, your debit card is restricted to use at healthcare providers (merchants that have a merchant category code
that indicates they are a healthcare provider). These merchants include hospitals, doctors, dentists, chiropractors, etc. You may also use your debit card at
merchants that have an Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS). For a list of participating merchants that are currently IIAS certiied visit www.SIG-IS.
org and select “Merchant List”.

Common scenarios when Chard Snyder may need documentation for a FSA card purchase:
1. You used your card at a merchant that doesn’t use an IRS approved system for healthcare cards.
2. If the amount does not match the established co-pay under your healthcare plan.

3. The description that Chard Snyder received from the merchant does not list a type of expense.
