Optum Rx Mail

UnitedHealthcare Members Optum Rx Mail Service
Service Member Select Program

Important Changes to the Optum Rx Program:

UnitedHealthcare/Optum Rx is launching the Mail Service Member
Select Program, effective July 1, 2014 to promote mail order utilization
for maintenance medications. Mail order is the most cost-effective
method for illing maintenance medications.

As of January 1, 2015, you will have up to two ills at the retail
pharmacy for drugs which are included on the UHC maintenance
medication list. If you do not set up your prescription to be delivered
by mail or if you do not decline to participate in the Mail Service
Member Select Program, all future prescriptions for this drug will be
denied as a network claim and you will be required to pay 100% of

the cost until you contact UnitedHealthcare Optum Rx to decline Mail
Service Member Select.

What Do I Need to Do?

If you received a letter from UnitedHealthcare/Optum Rx listing the
maintenance medication(s) you are currently taking, you must call
1-800-428-2703 to set up your prescription for mail order delivery
or call to decline from the program so you can continue getting your
prescription illed at a retail pharmacy.

Note: You will need to “renew” your choice every 12 months with
OptumRx. When you decline the Mail Service Member Select Program,
you will be removed from the program for one (1) year. You must
contact UnitedHealthcare/Optum Rx within 365 days from the date
you decline the program and make a declination for the upcoming year.

Otherwise, you will be placed back into the Mail Service Member Select
Program.
