The Power of Plant-Based Living: Insights from Simon Hill on Nutrition and Wellness - Aviamost
As you said, processed food is cheaper, as opposed to
products like yours which are slightly more expensive.
Even though these are science-based products, how do
you convince a potential customer to adopt them,
despite their price?
These days, individuals in their 30s, 40s and 50s are becoming more health conscious.
Hence, they are prioritising the effectiveness of products over their price. Moreover,
statistics show that over 90 per cent of people lack a balanced diet, and up to 87 per
cent don’t consume enough fruits and vegetables. Our experience with markets in
Australia, New Zealand, China, and the US demonstrates that when people are
presented with real proof, they believe. Furthermore, those who have tried countless
cheap and ineffective supplements, are willing to pay more for highly potent, science-
backed products like ours, even if they are more expensive.
What is your take on the ongoing plant-based and
animal-based diet debate? What are the long-term
health benefits of each?
This debate has existed for centuries and will likely continue. Rather than focusing on
arguments favouring either side, we rely on science alone. For instance, it has been
scientifically proven that diets rich in fibre, fruits, and vegetables provide essential
vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that enhance resilience and reduce disease
risks. Emerging research also shows that phytonutrients, which are found only in
plants, play a key role in building the body’s immunity against chronic diseases. Plant-
based diets are low in saturated fats, aiding in the reduction of cardiovascular disease,
stroke, and dementia risks. Though animal-based diets are promoted for weight loss,
it is the removal of ultra-processed foods that promote healthy weight loss rather
than meat consumption. Various diets promise healthy weight loss, hence, it’s critical
to choose the one that offers the most long-term health benefits. Furthermore, one
need not follow a strictly plant-based diet to achieve positive results. The
Mediterranean diet, which features an eclectic mix of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and
whole grains, allows room for fish, dairy, and red meat. Hence, the key focus of
individuals aiming for weight loss should be to achieve a healthy life, free from long-
term health risks.
These days, a lot of women suffer from PCOS. Are there
any specific products or diets tailored to enhance the
health of women?
The core product of eimele® aims to improve metabolic health which is crucial for
women suffering from PCOS. A key concern with this health condition is insulin
resistance, and our product can help lower post-meal insulin levels. It also contains
Marcel, an ingredient that is clinically proven to promote fat burning in critical organs
like the liver, and reduce visceral fat, both of which are important for managing PCOS.
While we currently do not offer thyroid-specific supplements, our approach focuses
on promoting overall metabolic function. A major challenge in today’s world is the
easy availability of hyper-palatable, calorie-dense foods. Genetically, humans are
wired to seek high-calorie foods for survival, but in today’s world, this trait can be a
cause of obesity. Hence, our products aim to promote weight management through
