Major restoration work for Deira Pier and Creek

Dubai Municipality has begun implementing a key project for the reconstruction and rehabilitation
of the supporting walls along the Deira side of Dubai Creek.

The work is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the creek’s retaining walls by upgrading the

dock, reconstructing sections that have been damaged and dilapidated over the past 50 years,
and preventing potential flooding during harsh weather conditions.

The US $30.4mn project is being implemented in two phases, with the first one involving the
restoration of a 2.1km stretch along the Deira side of Dubai Creek.
