At the ceremony, Dr. Ould Amar spoke about the new award and said that it would be given to people, groups, or
organizations that have made great efforts to improve Arab culture. He mentioned that the first person to receive this
special honor is His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. The Director-General praised him for
being a leader in protecting Arab identity and spreading an image of Arab culture that is peaceful and full of
understanding.
Dr. Ould Amar also talked about some of His Highness’s biggest projects. One of the most important is the
Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, which is the largest dictionary in the world. It has earned a place in
the Guinness World Records. Another project that the Director-General praised is His Highness’s financial support
for ALECSO, which helps run important books like the Encyclopedia of Prominent Arab and Muslim Scholars and
Writers. He also spoke about the Islamic Cultural Centre in Germany, the Azzagra Cultural Centre in Spain, and His
Highness’s support for Quran memorization and Arabic language schools in African countries. His Highness has
done a lot to help make the Arab world stronger and more connected with other countries.
Dr. Ould Amar explained that His Highness has been a major leader in Arab culture. He said that His Highness's
projects have helped the world understand Arab culture and knowledge in a new way.
In a message of thanks, Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, the Minister of Culture, spoke about how His Highness
has worked hard to support cultural projects in Sharjah. He said that His Highness believes culture is very important
for the growth of society and for building stronger communities. Because of His Highness’s efforts, Sharjah has
become known around the world for its creativity, knowledge, literature, and art. It has been called the World Book
Capital, the Capital of Arab Culture, and the Capital of Islamic Culture.
Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais also spoke at the ceremony. He said that His Highness always believes in the
importance of culture for the future. For over fifty years, His Highness has worked hard to build a strong cultural
scene in Sharjah, with many theaters, museums, and libraries being created. He has also started festivals and events
for poetry, theater, art, and books.
Al Owais talked about how His Highness has worked with other countries in the Arab world to improve Arab
culture. His Highness helped start the Arab Theatre Authority, which organizes the biggest theater festivals in the
Arab world. He also helped create Houses of Poetry in many Arab countries, including Jordan, Egypt, and Tunisia.
These Houses of Poetry host events and festivals that support Arab poets and writers.
Al Owais also mentioned how much His Highness cares for the Arabic language. One of His Highness’s great
achievements is the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language. This dictionary is one of the biggest and most
important gifts to the Arab world, and it was finished in just seven years.
At the ceremony, a documentary about ALECSO was shown, explaining the organization’s role in preserving Arab
culture. ALECSO, which was founded in 1970, helps bring Arab countries together and supports cultural projects.
There was also an exhibition of books written by His Highness, showing his many contributions to history and
literature.
The award ceremony celebrated the hard work of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. His
dedication to preserving and promoting Arab culture has made him one of the most important figures in the Arab
world today.
