In 2024, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached a significant milestone in its aviation sector,
recording over 1 million air traffic movements within a single year. This achievement underscores the
nation’s commitment to developing its aviation infrastructure and solidifying its position as a global air
transport hub.
Key Highlights:
Significant Growth: The UAE’s aviation sector experienced an average air traffic growth rate of
10.3% in 2024 compared to 2023. Over the past two years, the sector has witnessed more than 20%
growth, ranking among the highest globally.
Milestone Flight: On December 22, 2024, Emirates Flight 305 from Shanghai marked the one-
millionth annual air traffic movement, symbolizing this historic achievement.
