young singers from Merseyside and beyond.
• Liverpool Philharmonic Melody Makers
A fun, energetic entry-level choir for children in primary school years 3 and 4
who love to sing!
Every ensemble, choir and project is led by outstanding professional
musicians and artists, enhanced by musicians from Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Orchestra and their Chief Conductor, Domingo Hindoyan.
Youth Company musicians benefit from a host of additional musical
opportunities and experiences. Youth Company members have the
opportunity to participate in inspiring masterclasses with visiting UK and
international artists. In the past, these have included violinist Ray Chen, cellist
Sheku Kanneh-Mason and saxophonist Jess Gillam.
Through workshops with musicians’ health specialists, Youth Company leads
the way in offering performance health training for young musicians,
equipping young musicians with the skills they need to avoid injury, maintain
physical and mental wellbeing and enjoy a long and healthy musical life.
Youth Company also partners with some of the country’s leading music
organisations and performers from the worlds of brass band, jazz, pop and
other contemporary genres, such as Tomorrow’s Warriors, who frequently
deliver jazz workshops for Youth Company members, and LIMF Academy,
whose artists perform their original material with the Youth Session Orchestra
every year.
