One unique aspect of BTTF is that it’s not a static show where you are merely walking amongst a sea
of parked cars. Because the fairgrounds are more or less a city within a city with public streets, there is
a constant parade of cars snaking their way through the show. It’s a symphony of cams and uncapped
headers, punctuated with the smells of exhaust, race gas, and fried food.
Though the weather was unseasonably cool by Upper Midwest standards, the brief respite from the
stifl ing heat was welcomed with open arms by both patrons and vehicles alike, as there was a noticeable
decrease of overheating vehicles this year.
And just like that – it was over. Time to pack up and start thinking about next year’s show.
Attendance was down slightly for 2017, but with 2018 being the 45th year,
we’re sure that’ll change.
