found myself in a conversation with someone about the
future of the automotive industry, not too long ago, with

topics ranging from rat rods to hybrids. For whatever
Ireason, I was detecting a distinct criticism of my love for
the automotive hobby. He was trying to convince me that I

was wasting the time I spent loving and devoting my blood,
sweat and gears to a hobby that had such a defi nitive (in his
opinion) expiration date. I think he was both right and wrong.
