In planning this
project I thought of
all the years as a kid I
dreamed about owning
a T Bucket. The money
made it an unreal dream
and I would rack my brain
how I could pull it off. As
a young teenager I always
wondered if a VW would
work because its small and
has a fl at windshield. I knew
old VW bodies were cheap,
and with the right surgery
just maybe I could have a T
Bucket. Well, many years later
you can see I tried it and it
does work. Not exactly a T and
not a VW either, but as a love
child it’s cool in its own right.
Its light weight makes it
a power house with even the
mildest of 350s, and actually
handles better than a T. A T
Bucket is a little squirrelly, but
this love child is not. Its low to the

It has a 350 motor and 700R
trans coupled to a Lincoln 9” rear
end. If there is a weak link, it’s the
combination of high gears in the
700R, and 273 gears in the 9 inch.
700R, and 273 gears in the 9 inch.
This makes it a little doggy off
the line, but cruises at super low
rpm at 60 mph which is great for
gas mileage and long trips. The
instrument panel is 66 Mustang as

Game Boy Goodwill specials.
The gas tank is a 10-gallon air
compressor tank. The best part
of the project is that it falls in our
$1,500 category as promised.
