A 350 SBC pulls Ken’s truck through the streets of Albuquerque. Not one to leave
things stock, it’s warmed up a bit with a pair of four-barrels on an Offenhauser manifold.
A hotter cam, new lifters, and a gear drive timing chain round out the modifications
for now. A turbocharger is in the plans for this year, and Ken is currently in the parts
acquisition stage. Backing up the hot mouse motor is a stout Turbo 400 trans.
Other future plans include converting a ’37 Dodge truck bed into a trailer for his
Harley. The trailer will be bagged, as well, allowing Ken to dump the whole shebang on
the ground at once. Nice! The unofficial name of Ken’s truck is the ‘Unicorn’ – given by
his wife because it took five years to build, and according to her was, ‘mythical creature
that’s never been seen.’ Well, here it is.
