When you have twenty plus cars on your property, you have a good shot
at fi nding everything you need to build your car. The Ford 302 motor and
C4 trans were grabbed out of a pickup that a buddy had left on Tim’ s
property, apparently for just a bit too long. They are bone stock except for
the addition of a four-barrel carb and intake. The drivetrain sort of earned
its way under the Plymouth’s hood. When you have a bunch of engines
sitting around, it’s often good entertainment to see if you can blow one
up. As hard as Tim tried, this rugged 302 just refused to give up. 13 years
later, it’s still going strong. A ‘70’s Riviera ‘with salt fl at gearing’ donated
its rear end. The combo nets Tim about 20 MPG overall.
