I would like to say I am a “car guy,” but the extent of my working on a vehicle was putting a
fl oor-mount 8-track into my hand-me-down ’57 Chevy (albeit a 4-door model, Ughhh) during
my high school years. BUT, I do have a true love for what the tinkerers, restorers, builders
and fabricators are doing with their mechanical masterpieces, and since getting into digital
photography a few years ago, I just love taking photos of them.
It was a beautiful South Texas Saturday, though probably hotter than a normal Saturday in
September, but I don’t think I heard one word of complaint about the temperature. Everyone
was there just to see the awesome gathering of mechanical beauty assembled under a
beautiful Texas blue sky. The day consisted of live music throughout the whole event on a
special stage by artists such as Jarrod Birmingham, Lucky Odds, The Octanes, April Hall Band,
Riptide and Something Called Nothing. There was also a Pin-Up Contest later in the day with a
bevy of beautiful ladies. A large gathering of food trucks were set-up during the event to feed
the wandering visitors (and participants) with a great selection of so me of Victoria’s best food.
