had a merchandise tent set-up
to sell wares recognizing this
awesome event, as well as selling
raffl e tickets to benefi t Warrior’s
Weekend, a HUGE charitable non-
profi t organization founded here
in Victoria. Warrior’s Weekend
brings wounded “hero’s” to the
Crossroads area for a weekend
in May every year, and takes
them out fi shing to the nearby
town of Port O’Connor TX. South
Texas Performance customized
a Chevrolet El Camino (donated
by an active military soldier,
Jarred Baker of New Mexico, who
wanted to help our Defenders of
Freedom) with special graphics,
high-performance engine, roll-cage
and all kinds of extras, and they
sold tickets for months helping to
support Warrior’s Weekend cause.
One of the fi nal events of the
HRR was drawing the lucky raffl e
ticket for the winner of that mean
looking El Camino. Sad to say, I
wasn’t lucky enough to win it, but
still felt good that my money was
going to an amazing organization.
I can’t wait to see what the 2017
HRR has in store for us next year!
