Adding to the old-tech vibe of the car is the
honeycomb-style radiator from a ’29 Durant. It’s certainly different
than the tube and fi n construction we’re all used to seeing, and it’s
never seen in a hotrod or rat rod application due to their scarcity,
diffi culty of repair, and perceived lack of fl ow for anything bigger
than a four cylinder engine. But per Kevin, it works just fi ne, with the
addition of a junkyard electric fan. The trick is to add a bigger inlet and
outlet to get the right amount of fl ow and that’s it. Even when stuck in
traffi c, the thermostat doesn’t see the high side of 180 degrees.
