Spotlight on...
Paul Carmody
Paul Carmody is one of our Regional Directors, and
one of our most loyal members of staff.
To this end Paul is a great fit. He has always been highly
regarded amongst his colleagues. He’s supportive
and is generally regarded as the ‘go to’ person on any
commercial contractual issues. His advice is always
knowledgeable, pragmatic and relevant!
The election to this post is particularly timely as this
year Paul is celebrating 40 years with Sisk. However,
the family commitment goes beyond these 40 years
as his father, Jack Carmody, was a key man in Sisk
particularly during the 1940’s and 50’s when expansion
took place to Dublin from Cork.
We are incredibly honoured to have had Paul’s skills,
friendship and loyalty over the past 40 years. He’s
Chief Surveyor for the East Region in Ireland and a
Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. .
Despite his loyalty, enthusiasm and support he is still
a Manchester United fan. In fact, he loves most sports
including rugby and golf. We’re reliably informed he
plays like a surveyor - slow, calm, calculated and he
usually gets the right result.
Congratulations Paul, and thank you for everything
Paul is the current President of The Master Builders & Contractors Association of Ireland you have done for Sisk over the past 40 years.
e started at Sisk as a teenager in late 1970’s
and over the years has demonstrated his skills
Hon a variety of projects. In the 80s he worked
on many large jobs including the Mater Hospital, and
in the following decade the first phase of Croke Park.
Paul was the Senior Quantity Surveyor on the job. It
was a difficult project, with lots of commercial issues,
but the team got through those problems thanks to
Paul’s commercial skills. That project led to many more
opportunities and Paul went on to work on all the
future phases of Croke Park.
But Paul’s most recent achievement has seen him
elected as President of The Master Builders’ and
Contractors’ Association, a constituent Association
of the Construction Industry Federation. The
Association is dedicated to improving the efficiency
and sustainability of the industry, and to promoting the
welfare of its members.
