Page 51 - Life is a Fight for Territory
P. 51

Why? Because you’re not an investor. Not only do you not invest in real estate, but you’ve never owned a home in your life. In fact, your parents never owned a home either. So, instead of leaning in (which would be alignment), you might choose to lean away. It probably wasn’t even a conscious decision. You see, the left side of our brain (the part that’s linear and rational) is constantly taking information from our experiences and connecting this information to our current reality in order to project probable outcomes. So, if the entire table is talking about investing and you don’t believe that’s something attainable for you, it’s likely the left side of your brain made the probable assumption that you’ll never need this information, so go ahead and check-out.
Hold it right there!
What if investing becomes somehow connected to your future success? What if you’re a late bloomer but buying property is now vital to your life? Well, once you have this awareness (become awake to this truth) you have the power to change, to learn, to grow.
Maybe you’ll have to overcome some of the core fears Napoleon Hill discussed. Fear robs us of our power. While we are saying yes to our dreams and goals, fear is saying no.
Instead of allowing these fears to run around in our brain like a wild banshee, it’s up to us to
 RECOGNIZE them
 REJECT them and
 REPLACE them
