Page 52 - Life is a Fight for Territory
P. 52

It’s like being the bouncer of your own brain. If there are negative thoughts and limiting belief systems in there, it’s our job to kick them out.
Let’s go one level deeper and talk about how we kick negative thoughts out. It’s certainly not by using willpower and choosing not to think negative thoughts. If you’ve ever attempted to not think about something, you know how well that works.
If you’ve never tried it, go ahead and spend the next thirty seconds trying not to picture a purple zebra. Don’t do it! No purple zebras! Let me guess...they’re galloping around in your brain at full speed, right? I thought so.
Instead of attempting to not think negatively, the key is to replace fear and negative thoughts. We do this by reminding ourselves of who we are, what we’re made of, and what’s available to us.
You can use any positive affirmations you choose. The only requirement is that you believe what you’re reading or declaring over yourself.
Replace the lies fear is trying to tell you with the truth of who you really are! When your thought-life is centred around faith and truth, you become a living, breathing container of hope. You actually begin to operate on a higher vibrational level. You begin to attract the things you desire because you aren’t allowing any interference from fear!
I believe it’s possible to form the habit of walking free from fear. It may take some practice, but the ability to boldly embrace who we are and live an authentic, courageous life is possible.
Remember, failure isn’t fatal, and it certainly isn’t final.
