 HOW DO YOU RE-EVALUATE SOME OF THE THINGS YOU BELIEVE?
Here are 3 questions you can ask to expose false beliefs for the fraud that they are:
1.) Is it logical 2.)Is it realistic 3.)Is it helpful
For example, let’s say you want to be a public speaker but you believe that you can’t be, due to the fact that you are not a natural speaker and so can’t bear to speak in front of an audience, because it is just so awful and you always mess up and make a fool of yourself, because you’re such an idiot.
Where is the evidence for this belief?
Where is the evidence that there is even such a thing as a natural speaker, let alone that you are not one?
Just because you haven’t done something before, does that mean that you can’t do it in the future? And can never, ever do it?
Where is the evidence that you can’t bear it? If there is any evidence at all, it is probably based on one experience where you didn’t do as well as you would like because no one had ever told you how to prepare properly, so you didn’t prepare, and you felt uncomfortable. Your ego took a blow because you didn’t do it perfectly and you’ve blown it out of all proportion.
Where is the evidence that you always mess up? Since you always now avoid speaking, all the other instances have probably been imaginary ones in your head which you created!
