Become aware of your thoughts, then imagine yourself in the setting where you want to perform perfectly.
Take a moment to notice your surroundings in some detail. Where are you? What does it look like, feel like, sound like, smell like?
Be there, in the moment.
You can use this technique for any aspect of your life but for ease of explanation of the technique, let’s imagine you want to be more comfortable in conversation with your customers.
It would make perfect sense for you to work on what you were going to say and to do all your research and homework as normal.
In addition to these sensible preparations, use this technique to become more natural and relaxed when with your customers.
Relive some of your best ever sales conversations. What does it feel like? Remember this is present tense – it is happening now. Experience and enjoy it.
Create some new performances and experience them as if you where remembering them. But once again, relive them in the present tense.
Make sure you are always experiencing in the present tense.
Look out at the joy on the face of your customers, feel the warmth and strength of character in the handshake of your client; notice how you perform every detail perfectly. Notice how good it feels to see your customers enjoying the conversation and enjoying placing orders for more services. Notice how good it feels. How relaxed you are. Notice how much you are enjoying it and how much they are enjoying it also.
